The risk assessment organization and management structure consists of three groups: a Management Team, an Advisory Panel, and Project Managers. The USCG, ADEC, and Cook Inlet RCAC constitute the Cook Inlet Risk Assessment (CIRA) Management Team. The Cook Inlet RCAC is the entity responsible for administering the funds dedicated to paying for the risk assessment. The Management Team will solicit and recruit individuals with the goal of establishing an Advisory Panel.
The Project Manager, Nuka Research & Planning Group, will coordinate the project on behalf of the Management Team and provide for sub-contracting services necessary to conduct this work plan.
The composition of the Advisory Panel should consist of stakeholders and experts who can offer local knowledge and expertise on all issues pertinent to the assessment, such as local infrastructure, relevant industries, waterways and their navigation, weather, and habitats. The Advisory Panel is intended to operate as an independent entity from the Management Team.
